Akokwa Community
Akokwa N’Ohaigiri is a community platform that strengthens unity, preserves culture, and coordinates development across our autonomous communities, local branches and diaspora branches.
Location
Akokwa is an Igbo town in Imo State, Southeastern Nigeria (Ideato North LGA). It is part of the larger Orlu cultural zone. This portal helps community members at home and abroad to stay connected and support development projects.

- People: Predominantly Igbo, with strong community values, family ties, and town-union leadership traditions.
- Language: Igbo (with local dialect variations) and English.
- Culture: Festivals, age-grade systems, family kindreds (Umunna), and traditional institutions led by Ezes.
- Development: Community-led projects—roads, schools, health needs, security initiatives, and youth empowerment.

Akokwa is organized into six autonomous communities:
- Umuezeaga
- Umuokwara
- Akwu
- Umuopia
- Owerre-Akokwa
- Umukegwu
